ORLAND, Calif. – The Orland Police Department is searching for an attempted murder suspect.

Officers said it all started on Saturday, Oct. 10 at about 11:15 p.m. They responded to a 9-1-1 call of shots fired near Date Street and Rennat in Orland.

28-year-old Ricardo Garcia was found by officers, north of the location with several apparent bullet holes in his 2013 Mercedes. Garcia told officers he was driving home with his 16-year-old brother when an unknown person exited another vehicle and fired several shots at his Mercedes, according to police.

Garcia was treated on scene by paramedics for cuts caused by shattered window glass. Officers said the 16-year-old was not injured in the attack.

The Orland Police Department is now asking for anyone with information to contact them at 865-1616. Callers may remain anonymous.
The investigation is ongoing and Orland PD is being assisted by DOJ forensic criminalists.
