REDDING, Calif. - Redding police arrested a man they say entered a home and tried to steal a car. Police say Jadyn Edwards of Portland entered a house on the 2000 block of Glengary Drive in Redding sometime before 5:00 a.m. Monday.
Officers say a woman woke up to find her front door open and her vehicle running in the driveway. She was able to get her keys back and contact the police.
Redding Police quickly arrived in the south Redding neighborhood and found a subject matching description of the suspect one block north of the victims' residence on Southgate Dr. Police say Edwards immediately became combative and was taken into custody and booked into Shasta County Jail.
Officers say Edwards was also arrested on Oct. 10 in Siskyou County for entering a home and stealing a car from the 2000 block of Roxford Court in Redding.
Edwards is facing charges of residential burglary, attempted vehicle theft, prowling, resisting and obstructing peace officers, and possession of methamphetamine. Officers say Edwards has two non-extraditable warrants out of Portland, Oregon, one of which is for assaulting a peace officer.
