Chico Calif.—Chico Police are announcing Operation Chill, a chill way to reward youngsters for good deeds.

This summer in Chico, police officers will be handing out coupons for free Slurpee’s from 7-11 stores.

When police officers see young kids being good, or doing something positive for others they will give out coupons.

Something good can be as simple as wearing a bicycle helmet, or helping with a community clean up.

The program Operation Chill has partnered with police across the country for the past 23 years.

The last two days saw quite a bit of rain in Northern California. Today we could see more but the showers look to be more isolated today than in previous days. Highs today are expected to reach the upper 50s to lower 60s.
