HAPPY CAMP, Calif. – One lane of Highway 96 west of Happy Camp is back open.
Last Thursday, a rock and mudslide shut down Highway 96 four miles west of Happy Camp.
Caltrans said there is currently 24/7 traffic control in place with 20-minute delays. Motorists should be aware that the area is still active, and another closure could occur at any time.
Highway 96 runs from Willow Creek at the Junction with 299 and joins Interstate 5 north of Yreka.
SR 96 UPDATE: One lane of SR 96 is now open, approx. 4 miles west of Happy Camp, following a closure due to a slide. 24/7 traffic control is in place with 20 min delays.
