UPDATE: 11:56 a.m. Tuesday, March 3 - The Red Bluff Police Department released body camera footage and evidence a part of the investigation into an officer-involved shooting that happened in Red Bluff on Feb. 19 at the Meadow Vista Apartments.

UPDATE: 1:32 p.m. Feb. 20, 2020 - The man who was killed in Wednesday morning's officer-involved shooting in Red Bluff has been identified.
38-year-old Red Bluff resident Alex Francisco Vazquez was actively being sought by the FBI on a federal warrant and was considered to be armed and dangerous.
The Red Bluff Police Department said Vazquez shot at officers and was then shot and killed during the incident.
The FBI warrant was for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
An investigation into the officer-involved shooting is ongoing. According to the Red Bluff Police Department, numerous video recordings are being examined as part of the investigation. Officers said they will work diligently over the coming weeks to expedite the release of body cam footage and to provide a more detailed account of what occurred.
UPDATE: 6:32 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020 - One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting happened in Red Bluff Wednesday morning.
Red Bluff Police Officers said they responded to the Meadow Vista Apartment complex due to reports of an altercation. Officers contacted a man who fit the given description, he began firing shots at officers.
In response, one of the officers fired back and struck the suspect. Once the suspect was struck, he laid on the ground but continued to hold the gun in his hand.
The suspect refused to comply, holding on to the gun and shooting at officers who tried to get close to him again.
Police say two of them shot at the man at this time who stopped shooting back.
Authorities removed the gun from the suspect and tried to administer emergency medical aid. The suspect was transported to St. Elizabeths hospital where he was pronounced dead.
All three officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave according to the protocol, police said.

Police on the scene say no officer was injured in the incident.
