MODOC COUNTY, Calif. - A Modoc County deputy has been placed on administrative leave after he was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The sheriff's said around 1 a.m. on the morning of June 21, Deputy Erick VonRader was pulled over by an Alturas Police Officer for a traffic violation on Main Street.
CHP took over the investigation and booked VonRader into the county jail for suspicion of DUI.
Sheriff Tex Dowdy said VonRader has been put on administrative leave pending the outcome of both the criminal and internal affairs investigation.
VonRader was off-duty at the time of his arrest, according to the sheriff's office, and he was driving his personal vehicle.
