It’s not just gas prices that are going up. A manager at the co-op in Chico said the price increase is due to challenges from earlier stages of the pandemic. The consumer price index jumped up 4.2% in April, which is the biggest jump since 2008. A Chico State professor said he believes prices will normalize by the end of 2021.
