REDDING, Calif. - A North State man will spend seven years behind bars on charges of burglary and assaulting a homeowner and officer.

Redding police said Tyrone Hill crashed into two cars and a light pole on Vega Street on May 1.

He then got into a fight with a neighbor and chased them into their home. He attacked the neighbor, biting them on the face and forearm.

Later at a hospital, he bit an officer in the leg.

Hill also faces charges for driving under the influence of marijuana.

Light scattered showers are on tap for the start of your Thursday, and I'm tracking heavier rain ahead from Thursday afternoon through mid day Friday. We'll have a lull in our wet pattern late Friday through early Saturday, but even heavier rain and snow will return this weekend and persist into next week. Major travel impacts will be possible across northern California from this wet weather.
