OROVILLE, Calif. – The Community Action Agency will be holding an emergency food distribution to the public on Friday, Sept. 11.
The event will be held in the parking lot of the Nelson Avenue Sports Complex, 2280 6th St. The giveaway will be held from 10 a.m. until noon – or until supplies run out.
Tom Dearmore of the CAA North State Food Bank said the event will be different from their regular distributions.
Only boxes of canned and packaged foods will be handed out. The food has been pre-boxed to allow them to be placed by on-site volunteers into the vehicles of people who drive through the line at the event. The drive-through method, along with other safety measures, is intended to provide protection to the public due to COVID-19.
