UPDATE 10:16 p.m., Aug.1, 2019 - A home invasion suspect was arrested Thursday afternoon in Chico, according to police.
Chico police said they received a 911 call from a resident living in the 1400 block of North Cherry Street in West Chico around 3:08 p.m.
The caller reported a burglary in process, according to Chico police.
Chico police said 34-year-old Lawrence Studyvin kicked in the door of the residence and tased the victim several times before the victim was able to flee.
Studyvin was arrested within three minutes of officers arriving on scene, according to police.
Chico police said Studyvin had a taser and the victim's property on him.
Studyvin is a prior felon, according to police.
Chico Police said Studyvin was arrested for home invasion robbery, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a stun gun by a felon. Studyvin is being held in the Butte County Jail on $145,000 bail.
UPDATE 4:30 p.m., Aug. 1, 2019 - Chico police tells Action News Now they have a suspect in custody.
Police say a suspect broke into a house and when they arrived a man was seen running.
One man was caught with a taser, police are not saying if this was a victim or suspect. No injuries were reported.
UPDATE 3:53 p.m., Aug. 1, 2019 - North Cherry has been reopened following a brief closure.
