OROVILLE, CALIF. - Butte County Sheriff's Officials say there are no new cases of COVID-19 in the Butte County Jail.
Community Relations Coordinator Megan McMann told Action News Now Friday that 26 inmates were tested twice, after being exposed to an inmate who tested positive for the virus in late May. She said all results were negative.
McMann added that there are currently three inmates in isolation as a precaution. Two who said during booking that they may have been exposed, and one who complained of feeling ill.
McMann also said the Sheriff's Work Alternative Program will be reopening on June 15th, with the Alternative Custody Supervision Program to resume soon after, and that will help reduce the inmate population in the jail.
