Forward progress of Nelson Fire stopped

CAL FIRE responded to a fire near Richvale.

GLENN COUNTY, Calif. - CAL FIRE is at the scene of a vegetation fire near Richvale. Forward progress of the fire has stopped and firefighters will stay at the scene for the next several hours for mop-up, according to CAL FIRE. 

The fire moved at a slow to moderate speed and has currently burned one acre. There were 3 to 4 engines at the scene and officials say they are making good progress on the fire.

Powerlines in the area of the fire were down and PG&E was notified, according to CAL FIRE. 

The fire is being called the Nelson Fire.
