Nearly 25 grams of drugs found in arrest of Redding woman

A Redding woman who police were investigating was arrested Thursday as she was in possession of drugs and firearms.

REDDING, Calif. - A Redding woman was located and arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop that lead to them finding several firearms and nearly 25 grams of drugs, according to the Redding Police Department.

Over the last several weeks, the Redding Neighborhood Police Unit was investigating 40-year-old Holly Newman for selling drugs.

At about 7 p.m. on Thursday, Newman was found during a vehicle stop and was in possession of a loaded handgun that had been stolen. The gun was concealed in her waistband.

Officers located 7.5 grams of meth, 8.78 grams of psilocybin and 8.7 grams of heroin.

NPU responded to Newman’s storage units after officers gathered information and a search warrant.

In the storage unit, officers found a shotgun and a loaded AR-15 ghost gun rifle that was not registered.

Newman’s previous convictions prohibited her from possessing firearms and ammunition.

Newman was arrested and is facing multiple charges, Her bail is set at $25,000.
