National Weather Service Sacramento issues warnings for Dixie Fire burn scar area

A Flash Flood Warning and Debris Flow Warnings have been issued.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA - A Flash Flood Warning and Debris Flow Warning have been issued for the Dixie Fire burn scar, according to the U.S. National Weather Service Sacramento. 

Hazards in the area of the Dixie Fire include debris flows such as rocks, mud, vegetation, and other loose materials. The U.S. National Weather Service Sacramento says it has received reports of debris flows in the Dixie Fire burn scar area that is especially impacting Highway 70 from Jarbo Gap to Greenville. 

Chester, Almanor, Lake Almanor West, Prattville, Belden, Caribou, Twain, Highway 89, Highway 36 and Highway 70 are all included in the warnings. 

The U.S. National Weather Service Sacramento says to be prepared to evacuate if told by local officials.
