BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Several local organizations are joining the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in putting on events for National Teen Driver Safety Week.

One of the main focuses of the week is to combat distracted driving by providing tips for driving. These include:

  • Limiting passengers

  • Following speed limits

  • Avoiding driving tired

The organizations are hoping to educate teens not only on the dangers of distracted driving but of drugged and drunk driving as well.

Grab your jacket and and give yourself extra time to get where you're going Friday morning. We have brisk temperatures and areas of dense fog across northern California early today. Sunny skies and warm temperatures are ahead for the rest of your Friday and this weekend. Cooling down with the chance for showers early next week.
