Chico Calif.—Friday March 23rd is National Puppy Day, a day that raises awareness about shelter puppies.

It can also be a day that you shower your pup with lots of love and affection.

It’s a great day to get your pup a new fluffy toy, or tennis ball.

Spend the day loving your furry friend, and be aware that there are a lot of puppies out there that need a loving home.

This is a day that you can celebrate that unconditional love that your pup gives you.

You can also spend the day looking at adorable pictures of puppies if you search #NationalPuppyDay

Here is a gallery of pups to look at.  These pups belong to people from the Action News Now team.

Dry weather, sunny skies, warmer temperatures, and gusty north winds will drive elevated fire danger today. We'll have even stronger winds, but cooler temperatures on Tuesday. Fire danger will remain elevated. There will also be a chance for light showers in the Sierra on Tuesday and Wednesday.
