CHICO, Calif. - The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Butte County presents Randall Hagar as a Speaker about Laura's Law on Thursday, Feb. 21 in Chico. Hagar is Director of Government Affairs at California Psychiatric Association.

He was deeply involved in the campaign in the California State Legislature to get the Assisted Outpatient Treatment (ADT) Law, AB 1421. It's known as Laura's Law. It allows for court-ordered assisted outpatient treatment. The law was named after Laura Wilcox, a mental health worker who was killed by a man who had refused psychiatric treatment.

The Presentation is free to attend. It will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 295 E. Washington Street, in Chico.
