Update Thursday 3:45 p.m. - Dustin Kimbal was formally charged for the murder of Jennifer Moore on Thursday, according to Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey.

FOREST RANCH, Calif. - A man was arrested after detectives investigated the murder of Jennifer Moore whose body was found in January 2021, Butte County Sheriff’s Office said.
47-year-old Dustin Kimball of Magalia was arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail on an open count of murder, deputies said.
Deputies in Glenn County received a report that Moore was missing in June of 2017 and began an investigation.
In January 2021, Moore’s remains were found in a remote area of Forest Ranch and Glenn County detectives, Butte County detectives and the Butte County District Attorney’s Office began to investigate the disappearance and death of Moore.
They gathered information that Kimbal was in a relationship with Moore prior to her death. Detective then located evidenced that lead to them believing Kimbal murdered Moore.
In June, an arrest warrant was out for Kimbal and Kimbal was located Tuesday during a traffic stop in Chico.
Kimbal is scheduled to be arraigned at the Butte County Superior Court on July 1 at 3:30 p.m.
