Mt. Shasta inn keeper arrested on eights counts of sexual assault

Mt. Shasta police have arrested the keeper of the MountainInn Retreat and Spa for several counts of sexual assault.

MT SHASTA, Calif.- After a lengthy investigation the keeper of the MountInn Retreat and Spa on Birch St. was arrested on June 23. on several charges of sexual assault, according to Mt. Shasta Police Department.

David Roy Knowles Sr., 73, used a massage service he offered at his establishment to take advantage of his guests, said police. 

A felony warrant was issued for Knowles by the Siskiyou County Superior Court and he was arrested soon after.

Knowles is charged with one count of sexual penetration by force, two counts of sexual penetration by fraud and five counts of sexual battery by fraud. 

Knowles was booked into Siskiyou County Jail on a bail of $100,000. 

Mount Shasta police will continue to investigate this case as they believe there are still more victims yet to come forward.
