MOUNT SHASTA, Calif. - Mount Shasta Police are looking for a missing Bay Area man who was last seen in the North State on May 5.

Officials are asking local residents and business owners to check their surveillance cameras between May 5 at 10:00 a.m. and May 7 at approximately 9:15 a.m for video of Davohnte Morgan.

Police say Morgan was visiting the area and was last seen on North Mt. Shasta Boulevard in the city of Mount Shasta.

Morgan was wearing black sweatpants with a white stripe, a black knit turtleneck and 49er flip flops. He is a 28-year-old black man, approximately 5’11” with a thin build, according to his family. He has a thin goatee and walks with a slight limp.

In newly released information, police say Morgan was visiting with his girlfriend. She told police she was out watching the sunrise and crossed paths with him on Mt. Shasta Boulevard just after 9 a.m. He was still upset from an argument the night before and they did not speak, according to his girlfriend.

Police have gone through surveillance footage and say they were able to track Morgan in various locations between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. the morning of his disappearance.

The last time the cell phone had been pinged was in Oakland on May 3 the day before he and his girlfriend arrived in Mt. Shasta. Police say a second ping a week later confirmed the phone had still not been turned on.

Debit card records show it has not been used since May 4.

"There is great concern for Devohnte at this point in the investigation as he has had no confirmable contact or activity," said Mt. Shasta Police.

Morgan's family has not heard from him since his disappearance and have now hired a private investigator to help in the case. They are now offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to his return.

Police say they have followed up on numerous leads and ventured out to other cities.

If you see Morgan or know where he might be, please call the Mount Shasta Police Department at 530-926-7540 and mention the missing persons case number 2005M-0110.

It took a few hours, but the sun broke through the clouds over most of northern California Tuesday afternoon. The low clouds, fog and light rain showers return to the valley Wednesday, with snowy weather in the mountains.
