REDDING, Calif. – As Shasta County moves quicker through phase two, more businesses can open their doors.
Following Gov. Gavin Newsom’s order announcing the reopening of certain retail stores, the Mt. Shasta Mall will reopen on Monday, May 18, a senior public relations specialist with the mall announced in a press release.
The Mt. Shasta Mall will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
With more than 60 stores, the mall's management said it's putting safety measures into place. There will be hand-sanitizing stations, touch-free interactions, frequent and intense cleanings, and social distancing directions.
"I think it's really time to reopen, get people back to shopping, get people back to work," Artist Carter said. "I think there's going to be a pumped-up demand for clothing, retail, and for housing goods, and stuff like that."
Some restaurants within the mall plaza that remained open for take-out and delivery include: Outback Steakhouse, Roundtable Clubhouse, and Panda Express.
