Mostly dry & warmer end to 2017

Mostly dry conditions, and a nice warming trend are ahead for the rest of the week.

Get ready for another chilly morning, and warm afternoon across Northern California. Bundle up, and be prepared to scrape frost off of your windshield before you hit the road early today. Frost will more than likely be an issue for the majority of our region this morning. Temperatures have mostly dipped into the 30's for the valley overnight, and into the teens to low 30's in the mountains. Skies are expected to be mostly sunny today, and winds will be light. High temperatures will top out in the high 50's to mid 60's in the valley, and in the mid 40's to low 50's in the mountains.

Dry and mostly sunny conditions will continue for the next several days. A warming trend will ramp up later this week, and will result in valley areas climbing into the mid to high 60's by Thursday. Mountain areas will mostly end up in the low to mid 50's towards the end of the week. There will be a chance of some showers brushing the coast over the next 2 days, but that isn't expected to make it into our area, and then a chance for showers will pass to our North on Thursday and Friday. Showers will mostly impact the Pacific Northwest for the end of the week, but I'm not ruling out a stray shower or two sagging South into far Northern California.

We will more than likely stay dry and warm through Saturday, but there is a chance for some wet weather to return on Sunday. Models are currently split on whether or not we can expect showers before the end of 2017. Looks like we may have to wait another day or two before models come into more agreement on what is ahead.
