UPDATE 3:06 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 - According to PG&E, power has been restored to the more than 3,000 customers that have been without it since around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The utility said the outage was caused by contractor's equipment making contact with power equipment in the area of E. 20th Street and England Street.
CHICO, Calif. -There are currently 3,186 people without power in east Chico according to PG&E's power outage map.
The outage appears to affect customers from Chico and up Highway 32, to Forest Ranch.
Action News Now reached out to PG&E but have not heard back about the cause of the outage.
PG&E's website says that the power is expected to be restored by 3:30 p.m.
