More showers ahead for your Thursday

Rain, snow, and the potential for thunderstorms will be ahead for your Thursday. Welcome changes ahead for your weekend.

More scattered showers, and a slight chance for thunderstorms is ahead for your Thursday. Snow levels have increased overnight, but are expected to dip as low as 4000 feet by this afternoon. Mountain travel impacts are expected to become more prevalent as we head into your Friday morning. The best chance for valley showers will be in Redding through your Thursday, but a slight chance for light showers will sag to the mid valley this afternoon. The chance for thunderstorms will return to the valley this afternoon.

Temperatures are starting out in the high 40's to mid 50's in the valley, while mountain areas are starting out in the high 30's to mid 40's this morning. High temperatures are only projected to climb into the mid to high 50's for the valley this afternoon, and mountain areas will top out in the mid to high 40's. Winds will be up to 15mph out of the South today.

Showers will diminish in the valley this evening, but could last into early Friday morning in the Sierra. Mostly dry weather is expected by Friday morning, and all areas are expected to dry out by Friday afternoon. Sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures will return for your Saturday. Clouds will increase on Sunday, and the potential for showers will return to the region on Sunday night. More wet weather will be ahead for the start of next week.
