REDDING, Calif. - More healthcare workers in Shasta County will be able to get the Covid-19 vaccine this week.
In-home supportive services providers and community health workers are the next group to get their Covid vaccine.
The county is planning to have a mass vaccination clinic at Benton Airpark on Saturday.
People can also sign up to get their covid-19 vaccine through Safeway, but that's only by appointment.
People in the community tell Action News Now the more healthcare workers who get vaccinated the better.
“I think we're slowly moving along and I think that's great, we have to do that,” said Kathleen Fator of Redding.
“I don't see how this could be a bad thing. I think everybody needs to be vaccinated but again that's their choice.”
“This is a really big step forward for our community absolutely,” said Kerri Schuette of the Shasta Health & Human Services Agency.
“The more we can get vaccinated. The better that helps build immunity in our community.”
Shasta County is in Tier 2 under Phase 1A of the vaccination plan the county hopes to move into Tier 3 of Phase 1A by the end of this week.
