YREKA, Calif. – An arrest was made in Sacramento last week of the suspect in a Siskiyou County murder investigation. The incident occurred in late August at a cannabis cultivation site in the Mt. Shasta Vista subdivision in Montague in Siskiyou County.

Detectives from the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit and detectives with the North State Major Investigations Team (NSMIT) served multiple search warrants on Apr. 29, 2021, in the Sacramento area. They were assisted by members of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

26-year-old Alvin Thao was arrested for being a suspect in the murder of Shao H. Huang. He was found murdered at a cannabis growing site off of Zane Grey Drive in Montague.

Detectives said details of the murder will remain vague as their investigation is still ongoing.
