Missing hunter found in Tehama County

55-year-old man was found after a 19-hour search in Tehama County.

RED BLUFF, Calif. – The Tehama County Search and Rescue Team (SAR) located 55-year-old Matt Shasky after a 19-hour search.

On Oct. 17 around 7:30 p.m., the Tehama County Search and Rescue Team was called out to a remote location west of Red Bluff for a missing hunter. His hunting party reported him missing once they separated from him at around 1:30 PM that afternoon.

The team responded to the large property and began searching throughout the night and the following day with help from the California Highway Patrol Air Operations.

Shasky was finally located the following afternoon at around 2:30 p.m. after spending the night in the woods west of the search location.
