A Men's historical society in Paradise is looking to make Christmas for some kids, a little more special this year.

E Clampus Vitus Chapter spent Saturday wrapping up donated gifts for kids in Butte County.

55 kids and 20 families will be receiving presents, turkeys, and trimmings.

Normally the chapter reaches out to kids through the Salvation Army, but this year they put out a public-service-announcement asking for suggestions on who should get some presents.

“This is why I became a clamper and wanted to help our community out and do the Christmas thing. I think it's a great thing to do,” said Geffrey Benjamin.

Gifts were donated by community members in Magalia.

Next Saturday, the chapter is meeting at The Optimo restaurant and will hand out all of those goodies.

Thankfully, the wind is cooperating much better today in northern California. Our weather is still quite hot for this time of year and very dry. There is plenty of haze and smoke from the Fawn Fire overhead, and it isn't leaving yet.
