Meeting scheduled for Orland area residents to connect to city's water system

Orland residents have the opportunity to learn more information about getting connected to the city's municipal water system.

ORLAND, Calif. - Orland area residents have the opportunity to learn more about how to connect to the city’s municipal water system on Thursday.

There will be a meeting at 6 p.m. at the Glenn Success Square Conference Center at 131 E. Walker St. in Orland. If people cannot attend, they can join on Zoom.

There will be information about the emergency drought assistance resources that are available for people who have dry wells.

There will be representatives from the City of Orland, Glenn County and California Department of Water Resources at the event.

The areas south and east of Orland are the areas where the dry wells have been reported and people in the area of encouraged to attend the event.

The City of Orland was awarded a grant of $8 million from the Department of Water Resources to provide emergency water connections to residents of Glenn County.
