Maxwell Fire in Trinity County burns 80 acres, 20% contained

CAL FIRE is responding to a fire west of Douglas City in Trinity County.

TRINITY COUNTY, Calif. - CAL FIRE is battling a fire near Maxwell Creek Rd. and Clems Flat, west of Douglas City in Trinity County. The fire has been named the Maxwell Fire. 

The fire has burned approximately 80 acres and is 20% contained, according to CAL FIRE. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. 

This fire is near the Monument Fire but the U.S. Forest Service said it is a separate fire.
