Marysville woman dies after being hit by car on Highway 70

One woman is dead after being hit by a car on Highway 70 north of the McGowan Parkway overcrossing Friday.

OLIVEHURST, Calif. – A Marysville woman was killed Friday after being hit by a car while walking on Highway 70.

The collision happened around 2:25 a.m. Friday on Highway 70 north of McGowan Parkway overcrossing in Olivehurst.

CHP Officers said the woman was walking in one of the lanes in an unlit part of the highway, when a driver in a Toyota Echo who was going southbound, struck her with the front of his car.

The woman who was hit died due to her injuries at the scene of the collision, CHP said.

Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be a factor to the crash at this time.
