MARYSVILLE, Calif. - The Marysville Police Department ended up delivering some extra holiday cheer this year during their gift and food community giveaway event.
While officers and staff were handingout gifts to some deserving local families, they heard on the radio about a stolen vehicle.
Officer made an on-the-spot decision to add the family who had lost their vehicle to their gift list.
Approximately four hours later, the stolen vehicle was spotted at the exact same time officers were delivering gifts and food to the family whose car had been taken.
A high-risk stop was conducted on the 1400 block of Swezy Street. The suspect who was taken into custody for charges of possession of a stolen vehicle was 33-year-old John Robert Tau.
