Action News Now received an email from a viewer with a letter that was sent home to parents of Gerber Union Elementary School students in Tehama County.
The letter states that earlier this week, a student brought "edible rice crispy treats" that were laced with marijuana and was distributed in pieces to several students in the upper grades.
The letter also states all the parents of the students affected have been notified. They plan on talking to the students about the negative effects marijuana and other drugs can have on their development.
The school's Superintendent Jenny Montoya signed the letter.
