BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - The Paradise Symphony Orchestra is back for the first time since the Camp Fire, performing in Oroville Saturday night and in Paradise at their home base at the Paradise Performing Arts Center Sunday night. They have a very special program, said the orchestra's conductor, Lloyd Roby.

The embedded video shows a sneak peek at one of the rehearsals.

The show features Beethoven's 9th symphony and is designed as a musical celebration of North State resiliency.

Conductor and composer Roby penned a piece called, "The March of the First Responders."

Roby said it is composed in four parts. The first is a tribute to firefighters, the second to medical personnel, the third is for law enforcment, and the fourth is for "everyday heroes." That is the term Roby uses to celebrate the heroic actions of educators, bus drivers and regular citizens who helped save people's lives during the evacuation from the Camp Fire just four months ago.

Roby composed the piece in hopes it will be recorded in the future, and perhaps used by other orchestras to to celebrate their own community heroes.
