LAKE COUNTY, Calif. - Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying a person of interest they said may be connected to a homicide in February.
On Feb. 21, the California Highway Patrol responded to what they initially thought was a solo car crash on Highway 20, two miles west of Walker Ridge Road. Officers at the scene thought that the person in the vehicle died as a result of the crash.
However, during the investigation, it was determined that the driver, Patrick Weber, died as a result of a gunshot wound.
California Highway Patrol investigators have discovered a person of interest and vehicle associated with the case. They are requesting the public's help in identifying the person and vehicle.
The person of interest is described as a white, male adult in his 20s or 30s. He is also described as being approximately 160 pounds and 5'8" to 6' tall.
The vehicle is believed to be a late-1990s to early 200s tan and gold Dodge Durango.
