REDDING, Calif. - A Redding man is facing attempted murder charges after police said he stabbed two men after a bar fight.
Police said on April 27, two men were leaving the Hen House Bar on Hartnell Avenue when a fight broke out between them and a Hispanic man.
During the fight, both men ended up with significant stab or slashing type wounds to their faces, necks, chests, backs, hands and arms. The victims received extensive suturing but recovered from their wounds.
Officers were able to look at surveillance video and identify the suspect as Juan Carlos Hernandez, 39, of Redding.
The Redding Police Department obtained a warrant for his arrest and arrested him at a home on 1400 block of Wingsetter Way on Thursday night.
During an interview, Hernandez confessed to the stabbing claiming it was self-defense because he had an injured hand at the time and could protect himself any other way.
He was booked into Shasta County Jail on charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
