RED BLUFF, Calif. – The Red Bluff Police Department has released the identity of the man shot during Tuesday’s officer-involved shooting along with the identities of the two officers involved.
Authorities said 36-year-old Joseph Lloyd Thompson, of Red Bluff, was struck by at least one round, according to Chief Sanders, and was flown to a hospital for treatment where he is in stable condition.
The police department also announced that Sergeant Kevin Bowen and Corporal Stephen Harper were the two involved officers. Both have discharged their duty weapons. Sgt. Bown is an eight-year veteran and Corporal Harper is a 16-year law enforcement veteran.
The investigation is ongoing and video recordings are being examined as part of this process, according to the police department.
The Tehama County District Attorney Bureau of Investigation is handling the investigation. The Red Bluff Police Department is also conducting its own internal affairs investigation, as is standard protocol.
