RED BLUFF, Calif. – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating a deadly collision on Interstate 5.
Red Bluff CHP Officers said the crash happened just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A vehicle struck a man who was walking along the southbound lanes a mile north of Sunset Hills Drive, CHP Officers said.
CHP Officers said the driver of the vehicle, identified as 40-year-old Adrienne A. Randall from Oregon, was not cited. Officers said at this time, drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The identity of the man killed has not yet been released.
Caltrans said the southbound lanes just north of Sunset Hills Dr. closed around 12:14 a.m. due to the crash. After 3 a.m., all lanes opened back up.
