Man killed in Thursday's Highway 299 crash identified

Deputies have identified the man who was killed in a crash on Highway 299 Thursday afternoon.

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - Shasta County deputies have identified the person who was killed in Thursday’s traffic collision on Highway 299 East.

Deputies said 25-year-old Jedediah Riley Eminger was identified as the person who died in the crash.

Eminger was pronounced dead at the scene after the vehicle left the roadway down a 50-foot embankment on Highway 299 east of Sugar Pine Camp Road.

Eminger was traveling westbound at 60 to 65 miles per hour erratically, deputies said.
