A person was hit and killed by a train over the weekend in Anderson.

ANDERSON, Calif. - A person was hit and killed by a train over the weekend in Anderson.

The Shasta County Sheriff's Office said it happened Saturday, Dec. 12, on Highway 273 and Happy Valley Road. Deputies searched the area along the railroad tracks and located 57-year-old Michael Flint.

He was transported to a local hospital with massive head injuries. Despite life-saving measures, Flint died early Sunday morning at the hospital, authorities said.

There is no word on why he was on those tracks.
