Man found dead in Chico business parking lot

Early Saturday morning Chico police investigated the report of a man who was unresponsive who was discovered in a business parking lot on Oroville Avenue.

CHICO, Calif. - Early Saturday morning Chico police officers investigated a report of a man that was unresponsive, located in front of a business at 809 Oroville Avenue. A man was discovered by police on the ground in the business parking lot. Police said he was not breathing.

CPR was initiated, according to police, with additional medical personnel who arrived to help, but the man was declared to be dead at the scene.

Chico police said there were no "obvious signs of criminality" at the scene.

The man who died in the public right of way was not identified, and will not be until next of kin is notified. The man was described as a 36-year-old.
