Man arrested in Chico for sale of meth

The Butte County Narcotics Task Force arrested a man in Chico Tuesday for possession of narcotics for sale.

CHICO, Calif.- The Butte County Narcotics Task Force (BCNTF) enforced a search warrant at the 3000 Block of Morseman Ave. on Tuesday and arrested a man in possession of 6.7 pounds of meth. 

Jon Mason Robnett, 61, of Chico was found with meth and more evidence that he was selling narcotics, according to the Narcotics Task Force. 

Robnett was arrested for possession of narcotics for sales and was transported to the Butte County Jail with a bail of $100,000. 

In 2020, 54 people died of meth-related overdoses in Butte County and Robnett was in possession of what amounted to 30,000 doses, according to the BCNTF.

It took a few hours, but the sun broke through the clouds over most of northern California Tuesday afternoon. The low clouds, fog and light rain showers return to the valley Wednesday, with snowy weather in the mountains.
