CHICO, Calif. - A man was arrested in Chico for a robbery that happened at Sycamore Pool Thursday night, according to the Chico Police Department.
The Chico Police Department received a report about a strong-armed robbery at Sycamore Pool around 9:19 p.m.
At 11:45 p.m., the person called back saying he located the robbery suspect in front of the 7-11 at 101 Main St.
When police arrived, they located 53-year-old Gerald Roehrich who began to run from officers.
Roehrich dropped some of the victim’s property while running away from officers. He then surrendered when he realized he wasn’t going to outrun K-9 Aron.
Roehrich was identified as the robbery suspect and his associate, 61-year-old Marc Sogoian, was found in possession of stolen items from the victim.
Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail.
Roehrich was arrested Wednesday night in connection to starting fires near the World Market.
Police responded to the World Market around 11:48 p.m Wednesday night and CAL FIRE put out three separate fires that burned one to two acres.
Officers spoke with people in the area and determined Roehrich groped a woman who was sleeping at a nearby bus stop.
Roehrich then walked into the adjacent field and started the three fires, according to police.
