BIGGS, Calif. - A man was arrested after allegedly making homicidal and suicidal statements while drunk and armed with a handgun, according to the Butte County Sherriff's Office.
Dispatch recieved the report at 12:30 a.m. and responded to the area with additional resources.
Daniel Walker, 59, was identified as the man causing a disturbance on the 3000 Block of 11th St.
Walker fled the residence and when he was found by deputies was uncooperative, ignored deputies' commands and demanded deputies shoot him, said the Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were able to safely apprehend Walker using less-than-lethal force and assuring he was no harm to the public and himself.
During his arrest deputies obtained the semi-automatic handgun.
Walker was arrested for a felony count of carrying an unregistered concealed loaded firearm in public, a felony count of resisting an executive officer and a misdemeanor count of being intoxicated while in public.
Walker was treated by medical personal for minor injuries and booked into Butte County Jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Butte County Superior Court on June 28.
