HAYFORK, Calif. – The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double stabbing in Hayfork that happened over the weekend.
Just before 11:30 p.m. on April 3, the sheriff’s office said it received a report that two people were stabbed and taken to the hospital.
One of the victims was uncooperative with law enforcement, according to TCSO. However, the other provided a statement to detectives at the hospital.
The alleged suspect was identified as Luka Vujotic. TCSO said Vujotic left the scene before law enforcement arrived, however, he responded to TCSO the afternoon of April 4.
During an interview with detectives, Vujotic admitted to stabbing the two victims, according to the sheriff’s office. Vujotic indicated that he had done so in self-defense and that he left the scene before law enforcement arrived because other present individuals had been threatening to kill him.
Vujotic is currently at the Trinity County Jail for attempted murder, authorities said. However, detectives said the matter itself remains under investigation.
