UPDATE 12:55 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 - The man who crashed and killed a beloved Chico coach has been sentenced to six years in state prison.
Ramon Barrera Junior was sentenced to six years in state prison with vehicular manslaughter and gross negligence, Friday, Oct. 8.
The sentencing began around 10:45 p.m. Friday and wrapped up around noon.
GLENN COUNTY, Calif. - The man accused of a crash that left a Chico coach dead has pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide.
Prosecutors said Ramon Barrera Junior hit Pleasant Valley Coach Brett Silva's car in January 2017, while Barrera was passing cars on Highway 32.

The District Attorney said Barrera was under the influence. His sentencing is set for Oct. 18.
