CHICO, Calif. - The Chico Police Department is asking the public’s help in finding five people linked to a stabbing that left one man injured Thursday night.
According to Chico police, officers got a call about 11:15 p.m. that a 21-year-old man had been stabbed in his upper leg at the 600 block of West 6th St.
Witnesses told law enforcement that three unknown black men and two black women tried to force their way into a private party in the area, but when they were denied entry, they allegedly began “sucker punching” random guests.
That’s when a fight broke out, leaving a man stabbed during the altercation and losing a heavy amount of blood, according to Chico police.
After the stabbing, all five suspects drove away from the area in a white Honda Civic.
Authorities on the scene used a tourniquet to help stop the flow of blood, but the victim was later treated at a nearby hospital.
Anyone with information about the stabbing or the suspects involved is asked to call Chico police at (530)-897-4911.
