SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A man accused of killing a 6-year-old girl in Sacramento County and later dumping her body at Glenn County in May of 2015, pleaded guilty in Sacramento Superior Court Wednesday.
The burned body of Jadianna Larsen, 6, was found at a rural road near Artois after investigators say, Juan Rivera, 25, reported her missing.
Sacramento authorities say Jadianna was sexually assaulted before being killed by Rivera with a blunt instrument in Sacramento.
Rivera then allegedly drove 90 miles north of Sacramento to Glenn County where authorities found Jadianna’s deceased body.
The Associated Press says detectives testified that DNA was found on the girl’s underwear matching Rivera and was tracked by cell towers going round trip from Sacramento to Glenn County.
Rivera will be sentenced on August 17, according to the Sacramento Bee newspaper.
