Road improvements are coming to the Esplanade in Chico.
City leaders tell Action News Now the work on the two-mile stretch kicks off spring next year. The project includes grinding down and repaving the existing road, and updating sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and even bike lanes. The funds for the $3.5 to 4.5 million dollar project are coming from California's gas tax and Senate Bill 1.
City manager Mark Orme says he expects the work to take a couple of months, depending on weather conditions.
The road improvements will span from Lindo channel bridge to Eaton road.
