MAGALIA, Calif. - As the winter cold continues, another organization opened its doors as a warming center.

Magalia Pines Baptist Church is taking those seeking shelter from the cold.

"It's a dangerous situation this winter," Pastor Doug Crowder said. "Too many people are trying to make it, some people are still in tents, small RVs and things, medical situations all around us."

The hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., open from Friday to Sunday at 14098 Skyway Road.

There will be hot coffee, donuts, and soup at the warming center.

A dry and warmer than average Presidents' Day and work week is expected as high pressure dominates our weather. High temperatures will make the mid to upper 60s and the next chance for rain isn't until next Sunday.
